In this lesson, you will learn to use the basic drawing tools as follows 1) To draw P oints, Lines, Rectangles, Circles, Ellipses, Arcs, Polygons, Polylines and Hatch tools. 2) To  use the Erase, Undo and Redo tools . 3) Draw entities using the absolute coordinate points. 4) Draw entities using the relative coordinate points. 5) Draw entities using the tracking  method . POINT This command used to specify a point. You can specify a full three-dimensional location for a point. You can  control the appearance of point objects by using DDPTYPE command. DDPTYPE Specifies the display style and size (Relative to screen or absolute units) of point objects. Example : In this example, you will create point object by specifying point in the absolute coordinate system. 1)  Start AutoCAD 2) On the Welcome screen, click Start Drawing > Templates > acadISO-Named PlotStyles.dwt . This starts a new drawing using the ISO template. 3) Click  Zoom > Zoom

Why AutoCAD

While drafters work in a number of specialties, the five most common specialization areas are as follows: mechanical, architectural, civil, electrical, and electronics. Mechanical drafters  prepare plans for machinery and mechanical devices. Architectural drafters  draw up plans for residential and commercial buildings. Civil drafters  draw up plans for use in the design and building of roadways, bridges, sewer systems, and other major projects. Electrical drafters  work with electricians to prepare diagrams of wiring electrical system layouts. Electronics drafters  also prepare wiring diagrams for use in the making, installing, and repairing of electronic gadgets.

About AutoCAD

AutoCAD stands for Automatic Computer Aided Design and Drafting . AutoCAD  is a 2-D and 3-D computer-aided drafting software application useful for almost all designers. For example, in architecture, construction, and manufacturing to assist in the preparation of blueprints and other engineering plans. There are different types of AutoCAD software’s available in the market, those are developed for specific fields. For example: AutoCAD Architecture for Architecture, AutoCAD Electrical for Electrical, AutoCAD Civil 3D for Civil constructions etc.,
